Celia Delaney is a musical comedian and MC, with twenty years’ experience on stage and television, who started her career as an actress, touring as the lead in various successful period dramas, and later crossing over to comedy with her sell-out solo shows, Man Wanted! and Man Found!, which won her a nomination as Best Newcomer in the London Cabaret Awards 2015.
Described as "funny, sexy and extremely engaging", her comedy songs and ad libs are a potent mix of intelligence and humour and keep audiences engaged and laughing throughout. She can even write a song for your event: in the past, she has written songs for clients about subjects as diverse as procurement, the NHS, franchising, the West Country and Twitter.
Now she is a sought-after MC and entertainer, and is particularly good at hosting award ceremonies, where she adds a touch of glamour to proceedings. She also loves an academic conference, and having read psychology at Oxford, has been invited back to Oxford University to chair the International Speechwriters’ Conference and has hosted events at Ashridge Business School, Institute of Directors, Nottingham, Surrey, and Exeter Universities and many other top academic institutions.
She hosted The NatWest Venus Awards for three years in a row, and is often asked to host women’s events and conferences including recently hosting the inaugural Margaret Damer Dawson Awards, celebrating women in policing.
She is amusing, innovative and fast-thinking and can write and sing! Celia enthralls, enlightens and seduces audiences. She is destined for the big time.
Celia’s ability to combine her messages with drama, energy and skill is incredible. Her style is captivating and very powerful, several days after the conference her message is still ringing loud and clear in my head.
Celia Delaney was in sparkling form as the MC after her spell at the Edinburgh Fringe. She’s one of the few MCs I’ve worked with that can move effortlessly between the business world and showbiz and be brilliant in both.
When we researched the market for a MC who would be articulate, on the button and full of wit and humour Celia's name came back to us on several occasions. And now after seeing Celia first hand as she MC'd at the SIG 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner this weekend on my behalf I can see why she comes so highly recommended. I would definitely recommend Celia for any major event that's needs a little sparkle and pizazz! Thank you Celia you really pulled the show together for us.
